Ex-Bills Star Eric Moulds Sued for Allegedly ‘Knowingly’ Infecting Women with an Incurable Disease
Former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Eric Moulds is being sued by a Western New York woman who claims he “knowingly” infected her and others with an incurable sexually transmitted disease.
The allegations, outlined in a lawsuit filed Tuesday in New York State Superior Court, claim that Moulds allegedly spread herpes simplex virus Type 2 and targeted “single mothers who were Buffalo Bills fans living in Western New York.” While the disease is incurable, it can be treated.
Allegations of Misconduct
According to court documents, the woman alleges that she began communicating with Moulds on Instagram in 2019 and accepted his offer for an “all-expenses-paid” trip to North Carolina in January 2023. It was there that they allegedly began a sexual relationship that continued until November 2023.
The woman claims Moulds “knew, or should have known he had a sexually transmitted disease” but allegedly failed to inform her. In December 2023, Moulds’ pregnant fiancée of eight years allegedly reached out to the plaintiff, urging her to get tested after stating that she and “other women whom (Moulds) has relationships with” had been infected.
The plaintiff alleges she tested positive for herpes shortly after, claiming she had no other sexual partners during the time frame of her relationship with Moulds.
Prior Allegations and Legal History
The lawsuit further alleges that Moulds has previously been sued by multiple women over the past decade for allegedly spreading the same disease. It claims Moulds attempted to silence the plaintiff by allegedly offering her money to drop the lawsuit, a tactic he is said to have used with other women in exchange for signing nondisclosure agreements.
Moulds’ Defense
Moulds’ attorney, Frank LoTempo III, has denied the allegations. “All of the accusations contained in the lawsuit are false,” LoTempo said in a statement to Newsweek. “We are in the process of gathering information/evidence and will be responding to the complaint, which we will vigorously defend. I will have more information and comments once the litigation process starts.”
These allegations remain unproven, and no legal ruling has yet been made regarding the claims against Moulds.
